https://www.brownsfanshop.com/Howard-Wilson-Jersey , the Browns had a couple extra moves to make to get down to 53 on the roster. They’ve now made all the moves they need. The Browns announced that they have terminated the contracts of LB Ray-Ray Armstrong, P Britton Colquitt, DT Carl Davis and T Bryan Witzmann.Cleveland also waived WR Dorian Baker, DT Brandin Bryant, TE Stephen Carlson, TE Seth DeValve T Brian Fineanganofo, RB Trayone Gray, LB Willie Harvey, S J.T. Ouellette, DE Jarrell Owens, CB Lenzy Pipkins, DT Brian Price, DE Wyatt Ray, S Tigie Sankoh, T Brad Seaton, WR Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi, LB Anthony Stubbs, T Travis Vornkahl, LB Dedrick Young II, WR Derrick Willies, G Willie Wright http://www.brownsfanshop.com/Austin-Seibert-Jersey , DE Anthony Zettel, G Kyle Kalis and FB Joe Kerridge. The last two were waived/injured with concussions.Placed on injured reserve with a concussion was CB Phillip Gaines, and placed on the reserve/suspended list were WR Antonio Callaway, RB Kareem Hunt and TE Rico Gathers. After the Patriots dominated the New York Giants in a 35-14 victory two weeks ago, Tom Brady was asked whether he thought the offense had been good enough to that point. After a brief pause, he responded, "We'll see. We're 6-0, so try to get to 7-0."Two wins later the Patriots are still unbeaten, off their first 8-0 start since 2015. But the question is still a valid one as New England prepares to head into a much tougher schedule in the second half of the season. The offense has made strides over the past two games. The offensive line has settled in after having to adjust because of injuries. And running back Sony Michel has rediscovered some of his rookie mojo. The most welcomed developments, though, have been in the receiving group, which had one of its best performances of the season against Cleveland.Brady completed passes to seven different receivers in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Browns. Julian Edelman had the most productive game with eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns. But Brady also completed a fourth-quarter pass to Mohamed Sanu, acquired last week in a trade with Atlanta, and another to tight end Ben Watson Derrick Kindred Jersey , who was playing in his second game since re-signing with the team Oct. 15.Both plays, a 19-yard pass to Sanu and a 26-yarder to Watson helped set up Mike Nugent's 29-yard field goal, which stretched New England's lead to three scores.Coupled with another strong performance by Phillip Dorsett (three catches, 43 yards), who is seizing the role as the offense's deep threat, they are all signs that Brady has found trust in a core group of receivers."I think we're just going to try to find ways to keep incorporating everybody," Brady said. That faith and Brady's willingness to spread the ball around couldn't come at a better time. After playing just one team with a winning record in the first half of the season, five of the Patriots' final eight opponents currently sit above .500. Three of their remaining opponents — the Ravens, Cowboys and Chiefs currently lead their divisions.Sanu said though he's just getting settled in with his new team, he already has a sense that this has a chance to be a special group by season's end."You can see why they are the way they are," he said. "You can see why they have won as much as they have."WHAT'S WORKINGThe defense continues to have an uncanny ability to force turnovers in 2019.It had two fumble recoveries — one returned for a touchdown by Dont'a Hightower— and an interception in Sunday's win. It has forced a league-high 25 turnovers on the season.New England also has a plus-17 turnover differential, which is tied with the 1983 Minnesota Vikings for the fifth-highest turnover margin by a team through eight games since 1970.WHAT NEEDS HELPAs good as the defense played, it allowed four plays of more than 20 yards to Cleveland, including a 44-yard run by running back Nick Chubb. The play could have easily been a touchdown if not for the effort of Jonathan Jones Myles Garrett Color Rush Jersey , who didn't give up on the play and eventually tackled Chubb, forcing him to fumble. But plays such as Jones' aren't something they can count on each week. So, look for limiting opponents' big plays to be a big point of emphasis going forward.STOCK UPWith right guard Shaq Mason out with an ankle injury, journeyman James Ferentz made his first career start in his place. Coach Bill Belichick said it was the latest solid performance by the reserves on the O-line who have gotten opportunities with multiple starters out injured."You've got to give those guys a lot of credit," Belichick said. "They work hard and they're tough. They keep fighting."STOCK DOWNWhile the rainy and windy conditions played a role, the Patriots' kicking game suffered against the Browns. Nugent had a 29-yard attempt blocked and missed another wide left from 34 yards. Since signing with New England Oct. 3 after Stephen Gostkowski was placed on injured reserve, Nugent is just 5 of 8 on field-goal attempts and has a missed extra point.KEY NUMBERThrough their first eight games, the Patriots have a plus-189 point differential, tied with the 1942 Chicago Bears for the third-highest point differential through a team's first eight games in a season in NFL history.NEXT STEPSThe Patriots will try to remain unbeaten when they visit Baltimore on Sunday night. The Ravens are coming off a bye week and lead the AFC North.

allergic to free agency. This isn’t Thompson’s team anymore Clay Matthews Jersey , though.Green Bay signed edge rushers Za'Darius Smith and Preston Smith, safety Adrian Amos and offensive lineman Billy Turner in free agency. That gives the Packers “flexibility” in the draft, the second for current G.M. Brian Gutekunst.“I always like to attack this thing as best player available and not focus on too many needs,” Gutekunst said in his annual pre-draft news conference, via Mike Spofford of the team website. “I do like our flexibility to be able to move around and not feel pigeonholed to have to take a certain position or a certain player.”The Packers have 10 choices this week, including two in the first round and two others in the top 75. Green Bay still needs a starting safety and depth at edge rusher and in the offensive line. But the Packers truly have a mantra of “best player available.”“Where the team sits today, we’re not super concerned we absolutely have to do this or absolutely have to do that,” Gutekunst said. “We can sit back, see where the draft board is strong, try to get there, and take the best players available.” GREEN BAY, Wis. 鈥?Whether it was earlier in his career at New Orleans or the past few seasons in Seattle, two things were common for tight end Jimmy Graham: production and victories. Both are in short supply in his first season with the Green Bay Packers. Graham enters Sunday's game at Chicago with only two touchdown catches and the Packers with a 5-7-1 record.More Packers coverage from FOX Sports WisconsinPackers post-Super Bowl 2019 mock draft roundupGreen Bay Packers 2019 impending free agents primerAaron Rodgers' offseason to feature golf Blake Martinez Color Rush Jersey , not knee surgeryPhotos of the Week: 1/27/19 – 2/2/19Top Tweets: Wisconsin athletes survive 2019 polar vortex"My numbers suck," Graham said Friday. "That's not what it's about, you know? I just want to win games. If I have one catch for 2 yards and we win, I don't care. Obviously, it's not great when you're not helping us win, and that's what I see."Graham, who has played the last two games with a brace to protect a broken thumb, has caught 46 passes for 549 yards. That's second on the team in receptions, and while the production might wind up being better than it was last season for the Seahawks, when he caught 57 passes for 520 yards, Graham also led all NFL tight ends with 10 touchdowns a year ago. With Seattle in 2016, Graham caught 65 passes for 923 yards. With the Saints from 2011 through 2014, he averaged 89 receptions https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Dave-Robinson-Jersey , 1,099 yards and 11.5 touchdowns. While the Packers probably weren't expecting the 32-year-old Graham to duplicate that kind of production, they no doubt were expecting more than a couple touchdowns when they signed him to a three-year, $30 million contract in March. For his part, Graham was expecting to join a championship contender. Instead, the Packers fired coach Mike McCarthy after a loss to Arizona on Dec. 2 and could be eliminated from the playoff race on Sunday."I've never lost this much, so it's obviously not something I'm used to," Graham said. "I'll never be OK with losing. I love to win. We've got to get back to that. Last week was a great step in the right direction. We've just got to do what we can control and try to keep winning."For the Packers to win back-to-back games for the first time this season, they will have to contain Chicago's ferocious defense. The Bears enter the game ranked third in points allowed and first in takeaways. Chicago linebacker Khalil Mack has 10 sacks and six forced fumbles. Along with catching the ball, Graham will be part of the plan to keep Mack away from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.12View Gallery Gallery:PHOTOS: Packers vs. FalconsJeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports | Jeff Hanisch"In this offseason, the tight end does a lot of stuff," Graham said. "I've got a lot of responsibilities 鈥?just not running routes and out here catching the ball like a receiver. That's just how it is. I'm just trying to do my job and do what I'm told. . Obviously, we're going to play a great defense that's got a great rush. I'll be a part of stopping that rush Aaron Jones Jersey , and that's just how it is."Graham caught only two passes for 8 yards in the season-opening victory over Chicago. He caught eight passes in the loss to the Cardinals but had only two receptions for 13 yards last week against Atlanta. He had a chance for a 57-yard touchdown reception but couldn't make the play. The brace, he admitted, has been limiting."You don't want to shatter your thumb," Graham said. "That's not great, but it is what it is."Notes: RT Bryan Bulaga, who spent most of the first matchup against Chicago blocking Mack, is doubtful with a knee injury. That means Jason Spriggs is in line for his second consecutive start. … CB Bashaud Breeland (groin/personal reasons) and defensive tackle Kenny Clark (elbow) are questionable. Due to the death of a close friend, Breeland was away from the team on Wednesday and Thursday, according to interim coach Joe Philbin.

I used our draft guide’s (did you know we had one of those?) team needs as well as our player evaluations in my analysis, because assigning draft grades at this point doesn’t mean all that much.Without further ado, here is a look at how the division drafted:TexansNeeds: OT, iOL, CB, RB, TEPhoto by Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesRound 1 - Pick 23: Tytus Howard Offensive Tackle, Alabama StateRound 2 - Pick 54: Lonnie Johnson Jr., Cornerback, KentuckyRound 2 - Pick 55: Max Scharping, Offensive Tackle, Northern IllinoisRound 3 - Pick 86: Kahale Warring, Tight End, San Diego StateRound 5 - Pick 161: Charles Omenihu, Defensive End, TexasRound 6 - Pick 195: Xavier Crawford, Defensive Back, Central MichiganRound 7 - Pick 220: Cullen Gillaspia, Fullback, Texas A&MThe Texans desperately needed help along their offensive line heading into this draft. They have been unable to protect Deshaun Watson, and Colts fans know better than most how big a problem that can become if you keep rolling the dice and getting your quarterback hit. They attempted to address that by taking Tytus Howard with their first round pick and later selecting Max Scharping in the 2nd. These guys are nearly polar opposites Marlon Mack Jersey , with Howard being a high upside raw athlete and Scharping being a high effort guy with athletic limitations. The consensus is mostly that they reached for Howard with better options on the board, but if they manage to develop him he could be a very good addition to a line that desperately needs it.They also took two defensive backs in this draft, Lonnie Johnson Jr. and Xavier Crawford. Johnson is a zone cover corner who possesses the athletic ability and size to be a quality part of the Texans defense. He struggles in press and can get turned around by proficient route runners, but he has the raw ability to be molded and grown as a player. Crawford is a small but quick corner who will give solid depth at the position but whose size may be an issue. Rounds 3 and 5 saw them take tight end Kahale Warring and defensive end Charles Omenihu. Personally, I really like Kahale Warring, but he seems like an odd pick for this team in particular. For one, he is a very raw player, with a limited football background. It seems as though a team with as much talent as they have would be looking for guys who can be difference makers right away, and Warring likely is not that. Omenihu is another interesting prospect. He is best suited to the interior defensive line as a 3-tech, and if that is where the Texans use him, he could be very successful as a disruptive force that takes advantage of the fact that offenses will have to deal with J.J. Watt and Clowney (maybe?) on the outside. They drafted fullback Cullen Gillaspia with pick 220, but that hardly addresses their need for talent at the running back position. Over all, this team needed to really knock this draft out of the park to stay on pace with the division, and I’m just not sure they did that. <hr class="p-entry-hr" id="z1A06d">TitansNeeds: Edge, TE, iDL, WR Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty ImagesRound 1 – Pick 19: DI Jeffery Simmons, Mississippi StateRound 2 – Pick 51: WR AJ Brown, Ole MissRound 3 – Pick 82: G Nate Davis, CharlotteRound 4 – Pick 116: S Amani Hooker, IowaRound 5 – Pick 168: Edge D’Andre Walker, GeorgiaRound 6 – Pick 188: LB David Long Jr. Quenton Nelson Color Rush Jersey , West VirginiaThe Titans seem like a team poised to take a big step forward in 2019. They have made a lot of solid moves this offseason, and this draft fits right in with that trend. With their first pick, they took defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. That pick could of course, blow up in their face, because his injury makes him a bit of an unknown, but I liked the pick. This is a player who would have been a top ten pick if not for his torn ACL in February. The Titans got him at 19, and I think they’ll be glad they did come 2020.At pick 51 the Titans grabbed wide receiver A.J. Brown to provide a well-rounded weapon in the passing game. Brown is a solid route runner with good hands and quickness to make plays after the catch. He has the kind of consistency that translates well to the next level and should be able to make an immediate impact in a receiver room that was already greatly improved with the addition of Adam Humphries. The selection of Nate Davis in the 3rd might have been a bit of a reach, but he will make for a good developmental player who will benefit from the strength and conditioning an NFL team can provide. If he can refine his technique and improve his strength he could be a solid get for the Titans and help bolster their offensive line. At pick 116, the Titans grabbed Amani Hooker to add to their already fairly talented defensive backs group. Hooker is a smart and versatile safety who could contribute as a nickel right away and grow into a role beyond that point. He has the kind of balls skills and instincts that will make him a great addition to the defense.Linebackers D’Andre Walker and David Long both look like good gets for the Titans as well, Walker more suited to a OLB/DE role and Long as a stubborn undersized cover linebacker. Time will tell how this draft has improved this team, but they addressed several areas of concern and seem far better as a team than they were. The question remains as to what this team can expect to accomplish with Marcus Mariota under center. <hr class="p-entry-hr" id="ASiaQp">JaguarsNeeds: OT, iOL, TE, RB, WRPhoto by Joe Robbins/Getty ImagesRound 1 – Pick 7: Edge Josh Allen, KentuckyRound 2 – Pick 35: OT Jawaan Taylor, FloridaRound 3 – Pick 69: TE Josh Oliver, San Jose StateRound 3 – Pick 98: LB Quincy Williams, Murray StateRound 5 – Pick 140: RB Ryquell Armstead, TempleRound 6 – Pick 178: QB Gardner Minshew, Washington StateRound 7 – Pick 235: DT Dontavius Russell, AuburnThe Jaguars are an odd case. They are a better team than they were in 2018 https://www.coltsfanshop.com/Andrew-Luck-Jersey , but probably not as good as they were in 2017. This draft was a bit of a mixed bag, but honestly I’m not sure they needed a home run to be a much better team than they were last year. The selection of Josh Allen should immediately make this front seven the most horrifying group to face in the NFL. Seriously, good luck finding a defensive weakness. I am glad that is Frank Reich’s job, not mine, because it makes me a bit nauseous thinking about it. Jawaan Taylor was graded out as a first round talent at tackle and should be a very good addition to Jacksonville’s offensive line. Conditioning could be a concern with him, but if the Jaguars keep him in shape, they just got a lot better along their offensive line. While I really liked those first two picks, I am not a big fan of their selection of Josh Oliver. They opted to forego several better options like Jace Sternberger, Kahale Warring, and Dawson Knox, in favor of Oliver. Oliver has the potential to be a very good move tight end, but he is nowhere near ready to be a starting quality tight end, and Nick Foles really could have benefitted from having a player like Sternberger as a security blanket on an offense that is relatively toothless. The Jags then reached for linebacker Quincy Williams, brother of Quinnen Williams. Given the depth of that position group, bringing in a possible developmental player is not a huge deal, and this team has proven to be good at developing defensive talent, so while this probably was rich for him, who am I to question it?While this wasn’t necessarily a perfect draft, the Jaguars got better in several places. I still think they will struggle mightily to do much of anything on offense, given that they haven’t provided Nick Foles with much of anything in terms of offensive weapons. However, with a defense as good as theirs, they probably won’t have to do all that much anyway. The Indianapolis Colts are set to host the Miami Dolphins in their Week 12 matchup against two 5-5 teams as they both find themselves in the thick of the AFC Wild Card race. The Colts have already announced that four players (Mo Alie-Cox Josh Ferguson Jersey , Ryan Hewitt, Erik Swoope and Ryan Kelly) have been listed as OUT for this one, but their are some others who could have been seen as questionable to play as well. With Hewitt, Swoope and Alie-Cox being sidelined this week, only Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle will be available at the tight end position which could effect the play-calling from Frank Reich in order to give those two a break if the Colts are able to sustain some lengthy drives against the Miami defense.Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers, both, missed practice at least once this week, but both will be active today nevertheless. Nate Hairston, who has also missed some time recently, will also return to the lineup against Miami. Additional to the four previously announced players for the Colts, Hassan Ridgeway, Denzelle Good and Jonathan Williams will be inactive today. As for the Dolphins, they only had WR Jakeem Grant listed as OUT pregame, but Danny Amendola, Davon Godchaux, Ja’Wuan James, Ted Larson and T.J. McDonald were all listed as QUESTIONABLE coming into this matchup. In the end, only Grant from this group will be inactive today. Here are the Dolphins inactives:

RENTON Brandon Marshall Color Rush Jersey , Wash. (AP) — The Seahawks may turn to a corner-by-committee strategy to replace Justin Coleman as their nickel back this season.Coleman signed a four-year deal with the Detroit Lions in free agency after serving as Seattle’s slot cornerback for the last two seasons. He had played more than two-thirds of the team’s defensive snaps in 2018 as the Seahawks used more five and six defensive back packages. Now the Seahawks don’t have a single clear option to take over the role. Instead, they have four different cornerbacks vying for the job heading into the second preseason game. Akeem King, Kalan Reed, Jamar Taylor and fourth-round pick Ugo Amadi have all had a chance to show what they can do during training camp.“Kalan Reed did a nice job in the game, Ugo Amadi did a nice job in the game, too, in the plays that he had, and we know that Jamar Taylor and Akeem King can play there,” coach Pete Carroll said. “So, we’ve got four guys that it’s kind of hard to get their reps right, right now.”Carroll indicated the job could be filled by having interchangeable pieces on a weekly basis instead of one guy in the spot full-time.“There’s reasons for having multiple guys,” Carroll said.King was used occasionally in the role last season against bigger slot receivers. He was called upon to match up with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in Week 16. But while King may be the right fit to match up against Kelce or bigger receivers such as Larry Fitzgerald Cortez Kennedy Color Rush Jersey , Reed, Taylor or Amadi may be better at covering shiftier players like Tyreek Hill or Taylor Gabriel.King and Amadi appear to be locks for the roster while Taylor, a six-year veteran, and Reed try to show they deserve spots as well.“I think it’s harder for the coaches to find reps,” Taylor said. “I think it’s hard for those guys to figure out how they want to do it. For us, it’s friendly competition. I know I’m the oldest of the group so I’m always trying to help those guys figure things out. If I’m here and I’m playing, great. If I’m not, then I know I left it better than I found it and those guys will be ready to roll.”Reed has been working with the first-team defense in practice recently and could get the nod again in the team’s second preseason game against Minnesota on Sunday. He was the first off the bench when Seattle went to five defensive backs against the Denver Broncos on Thursday. He spent a chunk of last season on the team’s practice squad before being promoted to the active roster late in the year.“Just sitting out last year I was ready to hit somebody so it was exciting,” said Reed, who did not dress for a game last season. “Your time is going to come so you’ve just got to ready when your number is called. Game day was fun finally getting a chance to strap it up again and hit someone on another team.” It’s been nearly two-and-a-half years since Seahawks defensive back Deshawn Shead sustained a torn ACL in a playoff loss to the Atlanta Falcons. After re-signing with Seattle on Saturday following a year with the Detroit Lions, Shead says his knee finally feels back to 100 percent.“Man, I feel night and day better Shaun Alexander Color Rush Jersey ,” Shead said. “From even over a year ago. Starting at the beginning of last season my knee was still kind of, I would get kind of sore after practice, or you could see the limitations during the game. It wasn’t until later on in the season last year to where I started to feel normal again. And this offseason I actually got to train instead of rehab. There’s a big difference.”Shead appeared in only two games for the Seahawks in 2017 while coming back from the injury. He spent the first three-plus months of the season on the physically unable to perform list before returning for the last two games of the year. Due to the extended stay on the PUP list, Shead’s contract tolled for the 2018 season, meaning he would remain under contract with Seattle for the following year despite only having signed a one-year deal to remain with the team the year before. Instead, the Seahawks released him to allow him the shot he should have had at free agency.“For them to be able to release me and have an opportunity to go out there and look for a contract was actually a sign of respect so I definitely respected that,” Shead said.Shead signed a one-year deal with the Lions and appeared in 12 games for the team last season. However, the knee continued to be a nagging annoyance until the latter stages of the season. It’s something he now believes to finally be in the rear-view mirror.“I do feel all the way back, I don’t think twice about my knee, my breaks, in and out of breaks, I’m more elusive Jarran Reed Color Rush Jersey , my speed is back. So, now it’s just putting it back on the field, putting it back on the field, getting back to it, and do what I know,” Shead said.Added head coach Pete Carroll: “He came out here on the field the other day and he looked great, he looked as good as he’s ever looked. Quick and strong and fit and in shape. … I’m thrilled that he’s back with us and thrilled for him that he was able to get back physically, because he had a serious injury that he played with but only late in the year did he start to pop out of it and really start to gain some confidence that he could do stuff in a normal fashion.”

Down big when the team loses Za'Darius Smith Jersey , then up a modest amount following a win. That’s the trend that the Green Bay Packers are demonstrating this season, at least in terms of the confidence of their fans that the team is headed in the right direction. This week, the Packers bounced back with an 18-point win on the road against the New York Giants following an embarrassing loss in San Francisco. But after that loss, how much would the win in the Meadowlands move the needle back upwards? In the FanPulse survey results for week 14, we have our answer, and that answer is: not very much. That loss to the 49ers sent confidence plummeting, dropping down to 37 percent — the lowest mark since the end of last season. This week, numbers are up 16 points, creeping back upwards to a 53% confidence rate. However, that still is the lowest mark of the regular season, about nine points lower than after week nine, when the Packers lost to the Los Angeles Chargers. Here’s the trend line for this season:Meanwhile, this week’s survey had a handful of National one-off questions Womens DeShone Kizer Jersey , a few of which addressed AFC teams. However, with the Packers on track for the postseason in the NFC, we’ll take a look at the one question about another division in the conference. That question is about the NFC East, and participants were asked to say which of the contending teams will win the division:Currently, the Cowboys sit at 6-6, while Philadelphia is a game back at 5-7. Neither team appears excited to take hold of the division, with Dallas losing to the impressive Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving and the Eagles surprisingly losing to the Miami Dolphins.Whichever team wins the East will almost certainly be the 4th seed in the NFC, barring a complete collapse by multiple teams in another division. Forget for a second the Packers have Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay boasts a suffocating defense with an elite duo of pass rushers and one of the best young secondaries in football. They’re turning teams over, creating sacks, and getting stops in the red zone. On offense, they have a pair of workhorse backs, each capable of taking over games, gashing teams for big plays on the ground or through the air. Put a middling group of pass catchers and quarterback and that team Womens Brett Hundley Jersey , it’s basically the 2017 Jaguars and they went to the AFC Championship Game. Now, of course, this Packers defense hasn’t yet approached that Jacksonville team in terms of talent or on-field production, but Blake Freaking Bortles was the quarterback of that squad, not Aaron Rodgers. More to the point though, running the ball and playing great defense has the formula to win in the NFL from time immemorial and even in 2019, it’s a damn good starting point. It’s also a formula the Packers already deployed this season en route to victories. We’ve already seen it twice with Davante Adams sidelined, which is the key to the necessity of such a blueprint. Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison all appear to be out for Sunday, leaving the Packers with just three healthy receivers who were on the roster last week (Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, and Darrius Shepherd), plus Ryan Grant who just signed with the Packers this week. That happens to be the core group of players who helped engineer 10 points on the final two drives against the Lions to win. In that Detroit victory Womens Justin Vogel Jersey , the Packers defense held the Lions to fewer than 60 yards in the second half and held to field goals even after momentous turnovers by the offense. Jamaal Williams averaged 7.4 yards a carry, going for 104 on just 14 totes including a 45-yarder in a hurry-up situation at the end of the first half to set up a field goal. He also caught four passes for 32 yards, tied for the team lead in grabs with Aaron Jones and Allen Lazard. He was the heartbeat of the Green Bay offense the Lions with Lazard serving as the shot of adrenaline to the chest in the fourth quarter. All in, the Packers running backs contributed 136 yards from Williams and 60 yards from Jones, nearly half of the Packers total offensive output against the Lions. In fact, Williams averaged more yards per touch (8.5) than Rodgers did per attempt (7.3). Against Dallas, Jones carried the load without either Williams or Adams in the lineup with 107 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries while leading the team in catches with seven for 75 yards on eight targets. If he’d held onto a running back go route against the Lions, this case for his impact would be even stronger, but as it is, the Packers are 5th in rush offense efficiency according to Football Outsiders and while the passing game hasn’t fully clicked yet, the running game hasn’t faltered. Jones was the best offensive player on the field against the Vikings with a 116-yard day on 23 carries and one of the most impressive possessions of the year featured him on the field with Williams at the same time. Williams punctuated that drive with a touchdown. A week later, Williams shouldered the load with 12 carries for 59 yards to go with 27 yards on a pair of catches. Even with Davante Adams and healthy receivers, this offense works through the running backs Blake Martinez Jersey , on the ground, and through the air. Matt LaFleur made that clear from the word “go” that would be the case. Without capable receivers, the Packers will have to rely more on the run game, which also sets up play-action to make life easier for those receivers. However, if Green Bay plays a more traditional, slowed-down offense, the defense must be stout. Luckily, that’s the calling card of this team this season. Mike Pettine’s group no longer needs to manufacture pressure, able to get home with four thanks to the additions of Preston and Za’Darius Smith. With Jaire Alexander and Kevin King blossoming into excellent young players, the coverage gives that front precious milliseconds to create pressure and that pressure leads to fumbles or interceptions. Green Bay gave up big plays to teams like Denver, Minnesota, and Dallas, but also created turnovers to snuff out drives and give Rodgers and Co. extra possessions. Oakland’s run defense could create problems for the Packers run game Womens Mason Crosby Jersey , coming in as one of the best in football, but the passing defense is 26th in efficiency. On the other side of the ball, Derek Carr has been the least aggressive quarterback in the lead throwing the ball down the field. Green Bay isn’t likely to give up big plays against this offense, mitigating the on true flaw this group has shown in 2019. Jones and Williams can make life miserable for a sub-standard group of Raiders linebackers and with Oakland’s inability to create pressure (among the worst in football according to Pro Football Focus), Rodgers will have time to create what limited plays the offense will likely generate in the passing game. And that’s the differentiating factor for the Packers. Sure, they have a great run game and top defense, but they still have Rodgers despite the lack of weapons. He can turn Allen Lazard into a hero. This is how Drew Brees and Tom Brady succeed deep into their 30’s and early 40’s. It’s not all on the quarterback to wear the Superman cape. No matter who is lining up at receiver, the run game and defense for the Packers would be enough to make life easy even for Case Keenum or Mitch Trubisky. With Rodgers, it’s more than enough and they’ve already proven it this season.

of the Minnesota Vikings in our weekly FanPulse poll. I know Irv Smith white jersey , it’s not a surprise, but we’re going to talk about it anyway. The drop in confidence this week was not a huge one. . .of course, when you were only at about 21% in the first place, there’s only so far you can drop. But, with the loss on Monday night, the percentage of fans that feel they’re confident in the direction of the team is now down to 17%.Shockingly. . .well, shockingly to me, anyway. . .is that there are ten fan bases across the SB Nation network of NFL blogs that have a lower figure than the Vikings’ 17%. Those teams?Bucs Nation (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - 13%, currently sitting at 5-8Behind the Steel Curtain (Pittsburgh Steelers) - 12%, losers of three in a rowGang Green Nation (New York Jets) - 12%, sitting at 4-9Mile High Report (Denver Broncos) - 10%, just lost to the 3-10 49ersCincy Jungle (Cincinnati Bengals) - 9%, losers of five in a rowThe Falcoholic (Atlanta Falcons) - 7% Irv Smith Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , sitting at 4-9 with five straight lossesBig Cat Country (Jacksonville Jaguars) - 4%, sitting at 4-9Hogs Haven (Washington Redskins) - 3%, losers of four straightCat Scratch Reader (Carolina Panthers) - 2%, losers of five straightRevenge of the Birds (Arizona Cardinals) - 0%, sitting at 3-10Not surprisingly, the fans of the Vikings’ opponent this week are trending in a decidedly different direction. Following their last-second “Miami Miracle” victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday, 67% of Miami Dolphins fans are expressing confidence in the direction of their team. That’s the highest that number has been for the Dolphins since Week 4.Both fan bases are anticipating a win this week, and by the same margin. Both Vikings fans and Dolphins fans are calling for wins for their respective clubs this week by three points. Will the confidence number ever go up again in our FanPulse polling? Man, I hope so. We’re at halftime of Sunday Night Football, and while the Vikings still have the lead, it has been cut to three points at 17-14.The Cowboys got into Minnesota territory on their possession that carried over from the first quarter, but eventually had to punt it away with the Vikings taking over at their own 5-yard line. The Vikings couldn’t do much, and Britton Colquitt punted for the first time on the evening. The punt was a bad one Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , giving the Cowboys the ball in Minnesota territory to start the drive.Dallas took advantage of the good field position, converting a big third down from Dak Prescott to Amari Cooper and following it up with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Prescott to Michael Gallup. Brett Maher connected on the extra point, and just like that the Vikings’ lead was cut in half, 14-7.The Vikings proceeded to go three-and-out on the next drive, including a third-down play that was ruled a fumble by Kirk Cousins that was returned for a touchdown, but a review corrected the call to an incomplete pass. The Cowboys had a longer field to deal with, but it didn’t matter, as Prescott got his second scoring pass of the quarter, this time finding old Vikings’ nemesis Randall Cobb on a 22-yard score. Maher added the extra point, and just like that things were tied at 14-14.The Vikings took over after a touchback, and had 1:54 and two timeouts to make something happen. They got the ball to near midfield, and on a 3rd-and-3 from the Minnesota 47, Cousins looked deep for Stefon Diggs Irv Smith black jersey , who made an incredible catch that was originally called incomplete. Minnesota managed to turn the drive into a field goal, a 26-yarder for Dan Bailey to give the good guys the lead going into the locker room, 17-14That resulted in a 26-yard field goal for Dan Bailey just before the halftime gun, giving the Vikings a 17-14 lead going into the locker room. The Vikings will get the ball to start the second half, having deferred after winning the opening coin toss.Kirk Cousins has had a pretty solid night thus far, completing 16-of-21 passes for 170 yards and the two one-yard touchdown passes to Rudolph. Dalvin Cook has been the biggest part of the passing game so far, as he’s already up to 79 yards receiving on five catches. Diggs has 38 yards on a pair of grabs, and Irv Smith Jr. has five receptions for 34 yards. Laquon Treadwell has a 10-yard reception, and Rudolph has a total of three catches for nine yards and two scores.Cook hasn’t gotten a lot going on the ground so far, as he’s gotten 27 yards on nine carries. Alexander Mattison has 16 yards on three carries in a relief role. The Vikings’ defense has been uncharacteristically awful on third down tonight. Dallas has gone 7-of-10 on third down so far, and that’s something that’s going to need to change in the second half. We’re at halftime of Sunday Night Football, and the Minnesota Vikings lead the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 17-14. Come join us for the third quarter of play!Tweets by DailyNorseman

There wouldn’t be a mailbag show without mailbag questions, and it was a big response this week. We had so many that I’m thinking of doing a second mailbag on Friday just to try and get to all of them. Today we look at the floor and ceiling of Frankie Luvu, what options remain at the center position, whether Muhammad Wilkerson is worth bringing back on a cheap deal, whether high-risk high-reward is the best strategy in the Draft, whether the Jets should explore a trade of Darron Lee for Pittsburgh’s Artie Burns, whether Lee could have a productive role on the team this season, and whether the team should push to bring back Morris Claiborne.Thank you again for the mailbag questions, and thank you for listening to the show. Ghosts White Steve McLendon Jerseys , unnerving turnovers and an ugly loss. That was the New York Jets in a nutshell Monday night as they were embarrassed 33-0 by the New England Patriots in front of a prime-time TV audience.Bill Belichick dialed up so many blitzes, the Patriots' defense had quarterback Sam Darnold "seeing ghosts" — completely throwing him off his game and forcing him into crucial errors in the worst game of his young career."I didn't play well," Darnold said after the game. "I can play a lot better."Well, he never played worse. He was 11 of 32 for 86 yards with four interceptions and a dismal 3.6 quarterback rating. Darnold also lost a fumble on a sack and later batted a ball out of the back of the end zone for a safety.Darnold got social media buzzing with his "ghosts" comment while wearing a microphone for ESPN's broadcast. Coach Adam Gase said Tuesday the Jets were angry about that being aired, but it just capped a brutally bad night for a team that was coming off its first win and full of optimism. To add injury to insult, Darnold injured a toe during the game and Gase said the quarterback had a toenail removed."It's a game where it's very painful and frustrating to go through," Gase said. "You have to take as much as you can as far as learning from mistakes made, learn from the experience and put yourself in a position to where that doesn't happen again."At 1-5, the Jets are in trouble.Gase is taking heat for his playcalling. Darnold is being ridiculed for his comment and regression after being selected AFC offensive player of the week. And, fans are wondering when they'll see a playoff-caliber team again."There are still a lot of games left to play," defensive lineman Leonard Williams said. "Anything can happen. The most important thing is to just keep playing together and keep working. It's bad to just give up Steve McLendon Jerseys 2019 , and I definitely don't see that in anybody on this team."That doesn't mean the Jets are having an easy time dealing with the losses. That was particularly the case Monday night with New York getting a bit healthier with linebacker C.J. Mosley back from a groin injury that kept him sidelined since he was hurt in the season opener. The defense still couldn't stop Tom Brady, who marched the Patriots down the field on a 16-play, 78-yard touchdown drive that are up nearly nine minutes to start the game."It's very frustrating," safety Jamal Adams said of the losing. "Been here for three years. At the end of the day, we've got to continue to grind. It's all we can do."The Jets' struggles on offense continued, despite Darnold coming off his terrific performance against Dallas. New York ranks 32nd — dead last — in the NFL in total offense and passing offense. The running game is only slightly better, coming in at 30th through seven weeks of the season."What we put on the field is on me and it wasn't good enough," Gase said. "Obviously, I haven't found the formula yet to make us anything close to consistent."WHAT'S WORKINGGase and his staff — overtime on the game plan for Sunday's game at Jacksonville."The biggest thing we have to find a way to do," Gase said, "is make our gamedays look like what our practices look like."WHAT NEEDS HELPYou name it.No White Quincy Enunwa Jerseys , really.OK, here's one: The Jets' beleaguered offensive line allowed the Patriots' blitzing defense to harass Darnold all night."They brought everyone on their pressures and they show it to you, they don't disguise it," Gase said. "They just say, 'Here, we're coming, good luck blocking it, good luck setting it up right.' And once we mis-executed the first one, it opened the flood gates up."STOCK UPRunning back Le'Veon Bell. Despite the overall struggles on offense, the running back had his best game for the Jets. It was hardly an eye-popping total, but Bell ran for a season-high 70 yards on 15 carries — good for 4.7 yards per carry. He came in averaging 3.0 yards Quincy Enunwa Jerseys 2019 , so it could be a sign Bell is starting to get going.STOCK DOWNDarnold. He had one of the most drastic swings in performance from one game to the next you'll see in a while."I have a lot of confidence in Sam bouncing back from this," Gase insisted.INJUREDCenter Ryan Kalil is dealing with elbow and shoulder ailments that could keep him out a day or two of practice. ... Mosley has what Gase said is "some soreness right now" in his groin. The team will "keep a close eye on him." ... There's hope tight end Chris Herndon (hamstring) could practice this week. ... Running back/kick returner Trenton Cannon is having another MRI on his foot. "We're trying to really figure out what's going on with him," Gase said.KEY NUMBER3.6 — Darnold's dismal passer rating, which was the lowest in the NFL since Vince Ferragamo's 2.8 for the Rams in 1984 — also in a Monday night game — in a 20-13 loss to Dallas, according to Pro Football Reference. Ferragamo was 11 of 33 for 84 yards and four interceptions.NEXT STEPSThe Jets need to flush the loss to the Patriots quickly because they've got a short week to prepare to fly to Jacksonville to take on the Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars on Sunday."We have to go back to the drawing board," Bell said, "and get better, period."

defensive lineman Kenny Clark’s fifth-year option Mason Crosby Jersey , general manager Brian Gutekunst says he would "expect that would happen."As of yet, the Green Bay Packers have not officially picked up the fifth-year option in defensive lineman Kenny Clark’s rookie contract. Still, the team gave its strongest indication that it will during general manager Brian Gutekunst’s Monday press conference.“I would expect that to happen,” Gutekunst said about Clark’s fifth-year option. “He’s a dominant player on the defensive front.”A first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Clark has become the Packers’ most reliable player along the defensive line despite his young age (he doesn’t turn 24 until October of this year). Talented ascending players like Clark rarely get away from the team that drafted them, and Green Bay can keep him through the 2020 season for a relative bargain. In three seasons, Clark has amassed 131 total tackles and 10.5 sacks. According to Pro Football Focus, he has also registered 92 total pressures, the fourth most on the Packers over that span and second among defenders returning to Green Bay for the 2019 season. Jordy Nelson is back. The former Green Bay Packers receiver returned to Wisconsin on Tuesday to celebrate his retirement with the team that drafted him.A second-round pick out of Kansas State in 2008, Nelson spent a decade in Green Bay, leading the Packers in receiving yards four times in 10 seasons.More Packers coverageBucks’ Wes Matthews loves Wisconsin David Bakhtiari Jersey , is a Vikings fanPreview: Packers look to slow Vikings’ revitalized run gameTop Tweets: Yelich thanks fans for support after season-ending injuryAmos sparks rebuilt Packers defense in debutPackers to be tested again by familiar foe in Zimmer, VikingsSuch a reunion seemed, at one point, less-than-certain.The Packers unceremoniously parted ways with Nelson, then 32, prior to the 2018 season, a decision that rankled Nelson and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He spent 2018 with Jon Gruden’s Oakland Raiders, compiling a respectable 739 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 15 games as part of an anemic offense that averaged just 5.4 yards per play.No hard feelings, apparently.“I’ll be remembered as a Packer,” Nelson said Tuesday. “Obviously I enjoyed my year last year in Oakland. But this is where I started and it’s great to come back and end it that way.”Once the leader of the Packers’ receiving corps, Nelson quickly emerged as Rodgers’ favorite target. The two terrorized the NFC North with picturesque back-shoulder fades and game-winning drives for the better part of five seasons from 2011-16.The two are inexorably linked: Nelson debuted in 2008 Ty Summers Green Bay Packers Jersey , Rodgers’ first season as the Packers’ starting quarterback. He had a game-high 140 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl following the 2010 season and broke out the following year, when Rodgers won his first MVP award.Nelson’s most-productive season: 2014, when Rodgers won his second. Not even a full year apart could disrupt their chemistry. Nelson missed all of 2015 after suffering a torn ACL in the preseason, returning in 2016 to lead the league with 14 touchdown receptions and win the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award.Nelson had 6,098 receiving yards and 57 touchdown receptions from 2011-16 — eighth and third in the NFL over that span — despite appearing in just 76 of a possible 96 games. He finishes his career near the top of the Packers’ leaderboards: Second in touchdown catches — only Hall of Famer Don Hutson, who played in the pre-merger NFL from 1935-45, has more — third in receptions and 100-yard games, fourth in 1,000-yard seasons and fifth in total receiving yards.SeasonGamesReceptionsYardsTD200816333662200913223202201016455822201116681,26315201212497457201316851,3148201416981 Ty Summers Jersey 2019 ,51913201616971,25714201715534826Career (Packers)1365507,84869And while Nelson’s successor, 26-year-old Davante Adams, is well on his way to challenging Nelson’s dominance, he’s virtually alone there.Adams is the only Packers receiver to reach 1,000 receiving yards since Nelson’s departure, while just three other pass-catchers — Randall Cobb, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and tight end Jimmy Graham — have gone for more than 500 yards in a single season.

(regular season) edition of the Border Battle Kirk Cousins Jersey , as the Minnesota Vikings take to the road for the first time in 2019 as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. We’re taking a look at the history between these two teams, and my apologies for it being a little later than usual. I’ll try to keep it from being delayed in future installments. However, we’re here now, so let’s get to it, shall we? As always, these numbers are brought to you courtesy of the good folks at Pro Football Reference.Total regular season games between the Vikings and the Packers: 115All-time record: Packers, 59-53-3Total Vikings points scored, head-to-head: 2,242 (19.5 points/game)Total Packers points scored, head-to-head: 2 Adrian Peterson Jersey ,505 (21.8 points/game)Longest Vikings winning streak vs Packers: 7 games (2 November 1975 to 22 October 1978)Longest Packers winning streak vs Vikings: 6 games (22 October 1961 to 10 November 1963, first six games between the two teams)Most recent Vikings road win in series: 23 December 2017 (final score 16-0)Most recent Packers home win in series: 24 December 2016 (final score 38-25)Biggest Vikings road win in series: 26 points, 7 December 1986 (final score 32-6)Biggest Packers home win in series: 38 points, 14 November 2011 (final score 45-7)Current streak: One tieWe all remember what happened last year, unfortunately. Trailing 20-7 going into the third quarter, the Vikings scored three touchdowns in the final fifteen minutes of regulation. Kirk Cousins had two touchdown passes to Stefon Diggs, a three-yard toss and a 75-yard bomb, to close the gap. After Mason Crosby’s third field goal of the fourth quarter, Cousins drove the Vikings down the field again, finding Adam Thielen on an incredible 22-yard pass with less than a minute remaining John Randle Jersey , with Diggs’ two-point conversion tying the score and forcing overtime. Then, the Vikings got young Daniel Carlson in position to win the game not once, but twice. . .and he yakked on both attempts, missing one from 49 yards and one from 35 on the final snap of overtime, giving the teams a 29-29 tie.The Vikings’ last victory at Green Bay came in 2017, on a cold and dreary Sunday night at Lambeau Field. The offensive highlights were few and far between, as the only touchdown of the game came on Case Keenum’s 4-yard pass to Stefon Diggs in the first quarter. The Packers, behind Brett Hundley, did almost nothing offensively, and the Vikings’ defense did their job to give the purple their first shutout in over a quarter of a century Alan Page Jersey , as they left Wisconsin with a 16-0 victory. The Packers haven’t beaten the Vikings anywhere in nearly 1,000 calendar days, but their last victory over Minnesota came at Lambeau on Christmas Eve in 2016. Having gotten stomped by the Indianapolis Colts the week before, the competitive portion of the Vikings’ season was basically over, and they certainly played that way that afternoon. Nobody told Adam Thielen, as he had a huge day, catching 12 passes for 202 yards and a pair of scores from Sam Bradford. However, it wasn’t nearly enough to slow down Aaron Rodgers, who accounted for all five of the Packers’ touchdowns on the afternoon. He had a touchdown run to go with four scoring passes, and finished with 347 passing yards to lead Green Bay to a 38-25 win. That’s a quick look back at the history between the Vikings and the Packers at Lambeau Field. We’ll have plenty more about Sunday’s game as we get closer to kickoff. Though this Randy Moss Jersey , as always, is subject to change"Though there are plenty of things that can change between now and September, an early look at the strength of schedule for the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 shows a potentially rough road.According to CBS Sports, the Vikings have the 10th toughest schedule in the league next season. They also have seven games against teams that made the playoffs in 2019, and their opponents in 2019 posted an overall winning percentage of .512 in 2018.In addition to their home-and-home against the Chicago Bears, the Vikings also have road contests against both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. Those team each won 12 games this past season, best in the AFC, and figure to be in the mix in the AFC again this season as well. The other playoff teams the Vikings will see in 2018 are the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Seattle Seahawks.Again Cris Carter Jersey , there’s quite a bit that can change over the next few months that could cause teams to rise and fall before the start of the 2019 season. However, at first glance, if the Vikings want to get back into the postseason in 2019, they’re going to have a pretty difficult road ahead of them.

Fourth round pick Trevon Wesco, fifth round pick Blake Cashman, and sixth round pick Blessaun Austin signed their rookie contracts late last week. These are all four year contracts.Polite’s fellow third round pick Chuma Edoga still has yet to sign his rookie contract. That is a formality. Edoga’s deal will also last four years when signed.First round pick Quinnen Williams also remains unsigned. His deal will last four years and have a team option for a fifth year. Williams’ deal is mostly a formality, although a few minor details will need to be hammered out. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Marcus Maye is in the NFL record books for one of the best plays of his football career — and easily the most embarrassing. The Jets safety has been a staple of the highlight (and blooper) reels this week for his 104-yard interception return on the final play of New York’s 34-16 victory over Denver last Sunday . Maye picked off Case Keenum’s pass in the end zone and took off, making a few cuts and then chugging his way to the other end of the field. But something funny happened on his way to a game-ending touchdown: He was caught and tackled. At the 1-yard line. It’s the longest interception return without a player scoring in NFL history .“I’ve seen it a bunch,” a smiling Maye said Thursday, “and I laugh every time I see it.”He has taken plenty of ribbing about it, too, from his teammates and coaches.“It looked like it was in slow motion,” coach Todd Bowles quipped.“Usually in practice, we pitch the ball to each other to go score if we get tired,” safety Jamal Adams said, “and Marcus Maye did not pitch the ball!”Maye was playing in his second game of the season after missing the bulk of training camp and the preseason while dealing with ankle and foot injuries. The second-year safety had offseason ankle surgery and is still rounding into shape. He has been limited this week at practice. So Womens Neal Sterling Jersey , it’s no wonder he started running out of gas by the time he reached midfield.“I feel like once I got across the 50 and back to our sideline, all train of thought went out the window,” he said. “I was so tired.”On the play, Keenum’s pass to Courtland Sutton was deflected by Morris Claiborne and fell into the hands of Maye, who turned around, scooted out of the end zone and took off down the right sideline. He avoided a diving Keenum and then made a cut to avoid two would-be tacklers and headed across the field to the left sideline with a pack of teammates blocking for him.Broncos right guard Connor McGovern then tried to get Maye, who easily shook the tackle attempt and then headed to the middle of the field as he set his sights on the end zone. But Sutton caught up to Maye and made a diving stop, leaving the Jets safety 1 yard shy of a touchdown.“I didn’t even see 14 (Sutton) back there,” Maye said. “All I saw was the O-lineman. Once I hit the ground, I was like, ‘Oh, well.'”Maye laid face-down in the end zone as teammate Parry Nickerson patted him on the back.“I’ve got to get into the end zone some way,” Maye said.According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Maye ran a total of 140.7 yards on the return — the league’s third-longest play this season behind only Kansas City’s Tyreek Hill (140.9 on a 91-yard punt return for a touchdown) and Detroit’s Jamal Agnew (142.1 on a 73-yard punt return for a TD that was nullified by a penalty and credited as a 4-yard return).“Yeah http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-c.j.-mosley-jersey , I’ve been running,” Maye said when asked if he has gotten into better shape the last few days. “I’ve been running sprints in between periods and getting on the bike and stuff like that.”All kidding aside, it was a good all-around game for Maye, who had eight tackles — six solo — a sack, a pass defensed, a forced fumble and the interception.“He sees the game very well, he knows the game,” Bowles said. “He’s pretty bright for a young guy.”Maye made his season debut two weeks ago at Jacksonville, when he made six total tackles. The safety can see improvement from that game to his performance last week — even with that, well, sluggish ending.“I felt a lot better,” Maye said. “Each day, each week, you just try to stack the days. Jacksonville Avery Williamson Jersey , the first game back and first outing, you see things and try to react to them. But for the most part, coming into Denver week, I felt better and felt like I was moving around more and knew what was going on, so it was a better outing.”NOTES: DE Leonard Williams didn’t practice with what Bowles said was a sore back. It’s too early to tell if it might limit him or keep him out against Indianapolis on Sunday. … RB Isaiah Crowell sat out for the second straight day with an ankle ailment. He was injured during his franchise-record 219-yard rushing performance last Sunday. … CB Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps), CB Buster Skrine (concussion), WR Charone Peake (hamstring), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot) and WR Terrelle Pryor (excused absence) also didn’t practice. … WR-KR Andre Roberts (elbow/foot), C Spencer Long (knee/finger), S Doug Middleton (hamstring) and TE Neal Sterling (concussion) were all limited.

GREEN BAY Drew Bledsoe Jerseys 2019 , Wis. (AP) — Just three weeks into the season and the Cincinnati Bengals are already at a crossroads.About the last thing that the struggling team needed was a trip to Lambeau Field on Sunday to face the Green Bay Packers.Injuries that could leave the Packers without several key players may help Cincinnati’s chances of digging out from a 0-2 start. But Green Bay (1-1) is still smarting from a loss at Atlanta , eager to get back on track as an NFC contender.“Our focus is on the uncommon opponent in the Bengals, but we have a lot of work to do ourselves,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.Two-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers represents the great equalizer, capable of winning any game regardless of the circumstances.Still, the Packers’ injury report this week resembled an All-Pro roster. Defensive lineman Mike Daniels, receivers Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, along with offensive tackles David Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga are all nicked. Edge rusher Nick Perry has a hand injury. At least Green Bay hasn’t shaken up its coaching staff White Steve Grogan Jerseys , though.Bill Lazor will make his debut as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator after being promoted from quarterbacks coach to replace the fired Ken Zampese. He was let go after a 13-9 loss to Texans on Thursday night in Week 2, capping a historically bad stretch of offense for the franchise. The Bengals became the first team since the 1939 Eagles to open the season with two home games and fail to score a touchdown. They haven’t reached the end zone in 25 possessions, settling for three field goals for the season.Receiver A.J. Green, who has only 10 catches, said after the loss to Houston that the Bengals need to get their playmakers involved more.“You’ve got to rely on those guys that can make big plays for you to turn this thing around,” quarterback Andy Dalton said.Other notes and things to watch for in the first meeting between the teams since 2013:MEDICAL REPORT: Nelson (quad) and Bulaga (ankle) were among the few of the 13 Green Bay players listed on the injury report who were full participants in practice at midweek, seemingly giving them the best chances to play on Sunday. The Packers could be able to withstand being without Nelson and Cobb for a short period because of depth at receiver. But getting Bulaga back is important for a line that is thin in experience behind the starting five.“Well, I mean you’ve got to play around that type of stuff because that’s what comes with the game Steve Grogan Jerseys 2019 ,” Packers receiver Davante Adams said. “Football is 100 percent chance that you’re going to get hurt at some point, whether or not it’s season-ending, but you’ve got to adapt and you’ve got to fill in.:D TESTED: The Packers represent the first real test for a Bengals defense that has played well against two limited offenses. Dalton had five turnovers against the Ravens, including one on the 2-yard line, but the defense gave up only 20 points.Joe Flacco didn’t complete a pass in the second half of the game, his first since missing all of training camp and the preseason with a bad back. Houston rookie Deshaun Watson threw for only 125 yards and was sacked three times in his first NFL start.IRON MIKE: Daniels’ hip injury could be a problem for the Packers. He has turned into a disruptive force up front in his sixth year, helping outside linebackers Perry and Clay Matthews get off to a good start off the edge. Powered by a nonstop motor, Daniels also helps clog the middle against the run.DALTON’S COMFORT ZONE: Dalton has been under heavy pressure in the first two games White Kevin Faulk Jerseys , sacked eight times and hit often. His passer rating of 47.2 is last in the NFL.Coach Marvin Lewis has steadfastly supported Dalton, resisting calls to use backup AJ McCarron. One of Lazor’s priorities on Sunday is to get Dalton into a comfort zone early by completing some short passes on the opening drive.“Anytime you get into a rhythm, you feel you can play better and you see things easier. So if that’s his goal, that’s my goal, too. I love to be in a rhythm,” Dalton said.CLAY-MAKER: Matthews is on the verge of setting a milestone, a half-sack behind Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (74) for most in franchise history since 1982. After an injury-filled 2016 season, the nine-year veteran is off to a good start this season with 1 sacks.“Clay has been a class act his whole career Kevin Faulk Jerseys 2019 ,” McCarthy said. “I hate talking like this because he’s got a lot left and this is just a milestone that he’s getting ready to jump over.”——AP Sports Writer Joe Kay in Cincinnati contributed to this story. Running back Devin Singletary has taken a step toward returning to the Bills lineup.Singletary injured his hamstring in Week Two’s win over the Giants, which led him to miss both practices and last Sunday’s games against the Bengals. Singletary remained out of practice on Wednesday, but Thursday brought some better news about his condition.According to multiple reporters at Bills practice, Singletary was in a helmet and taking part in drills during the portion of practice open to the media. An accounting of how much work he did during the session will have to wait until the release of the injury report. That participation level and Friday’s workload will also provide some idea about the chances that Singletary plays against the Patriots this weekend. If he doesn’t, Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon will handle backfield duties in the matchup of 3-0 teams.

despite having nothing on the line. Ezekiel Elliott does have something on the line — the NFL rushing title — though that’s not why he wants to play.“This is not a week off. This is not a game that doesn鈥檛 matter George Asafo-Adjei Buffalo Bills Jersey ,” Elliott said. “I think it鈥檚 important for us to go win this ball game and gain some momentum going into the playoffs.”Apparently, only the NFL can stop Elliott.Whether he plays or not, the Cowboys star running back likely has won his second rushing title in three years. The only time he didn’t win it was last season when the NFL suspended him for six games, and Elliott still led the NFL in rushing yards per game.Elliott has 1,434 rushing yards this season. That is 183 more than Rams running back Todd Gurley, who didn’t play Sunday and could remain on the sideline in Week 17. Rookie Saquon Barkley is 236 yards behind Elliott, and Barkley plays the Cowboys on Sunday. He had 11 carries for 28 yards against the Cowboys in Week Two.Two years ago Infant Christopher Slayton Jersey , when the Cowboys were in the same position in Week 17, Elliott dressed but did not see the field in the regular-season finale against the Eagles. Elliott still won the rushing title with 1,631 yards.Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher, won four rushing titles in his 15 seasons and led the league in yards per game three times. After Quadree Henderson showed promise in two games as the kickoff and punt returner for the New York Giants, the team waived him this week to make room on the roster for defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh, the fifth-round pick who had been on the non-football illness list. The Giants Thursday brought Henderson back Christopher Slayton Jersey Draft , signing him to the practice squad and cutting running back Jhurell Pressley. Coach Pat Shurmur indicated that Henderson could still be the team’s return man on Monday against the San Francisco 49ers, something that would require another roster move.“We had to make a roster move to get R.J. (McIntosh) up. He’s cleared (waivers),” Shurmur said. “We certainly can make a roster move all the way up until game day, so there’s always a chance we can bring him up, but we had to make a roster move that required us releasing someone and so we did that.”If Henderson is not activated, rookie Jawill Davis would seem the logical candidate to be the primary returner. Davis has averaged 24.4 yards on seven returns.Henderson is also a wide receiver, and the Giants currently have six of those — Davis Christopher Slayton NFL Jersey , Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Corey Coleman, Russell Shepard, Bennie Fowler — on the roster.

BEREA Greg Joseph Jersey , Ohio (AP) — Baker Mayfield won't back down, won't change. Not for Hue Jackson or TV commentators or critics or anyone.Don't bother telling Cleveland's rookie quarterback how he should act, what he should say or how he should feel. He's not listening. "I'm not a cookie-cutter quarterback," Mayfield said. "Never have been, never will be."Dismissing some condemnation for recent comments and actions, Mayfield doubled down on Wednesday by saying he doesn't regret calling former Browns coach Hue Jackson "fake" and promised to stay true to himself. After throwing four touchdown passes and leading the Browns to a 35-20 win on Sunday in Cincinnati, Mayfield was cool toward Jackson when they met on the field and then said he was unhappy with the coach's decision to take a job with the Bengals, a division rival, just weeks after he was fired by the Browns.Mayfield's remarks drew some harsh criticism, especially from ESPN's Damien Woody, a former NFL player who called the 23-year-old immature and hypocritical because he transferred from Texas Tech to Oklahoma. Mayfield fired back at Woody by posting a comment on Instagram assailing Jackson, pointing out he lost 30-plus games with Cleveland, labeling him "fake."Mayfield isn't taking back a single word."People took it as me personally attacking Hue, but that's not it," he said. "It's the fact that I get to have my own opinion on how it transpired and he gets to do what he wants. That's how it is. I speak my mind. That's just how I am, so I didn't like the (Jackson) move and people don't have to care. I'm not looking for anybody's approval. I don't regret any of it. It's about this team and what we have, and we have to stick together and play together."Mayfield, who has played superbly in leading the Browns to two straight wins, believes his passion to play and lead has been misread."People get maturity confused with me being 100 percent comfortable in my own skin Jabrill Peppers Color Rush Jersey ," Mayfield said. "It's not immature. It's me being exactly who I am every day. Being that same guy for our team and I think that is very important for us right now."Mayfield declined to elaborate about his relationship with Jackson, saying "it's in-house information and it doesn't matter."But Mayfield's conduct has struck a nerve — in Cleveland, where he's being hailed as a franchise savior, and across the NFL, which is taking note of a Browns team making some noise. This is the swaggering, headband-wearing, flag-planting Mayfield the Browns knew they were getting when the team selected him with the No. 1 overall pick. He arrived carrying a Heisman Trophy but with other baggage, which included some questionable on-field antics — and an off-field arrest — that concerned some front-office executives but didn't dissuade the Browns.Mayfield insists he's just being himself, and he'll deal with detractors the way he always has."I have an opinion and I'm entitled to that, but the most important thing is me doing my job and I can manage both, and that's what people don't understand," he said. "Yeah, a quarterback that's a little different from some of the guys to have a voice, but that's just how I've always been and I'm not going to change for anybody."Mayfield's relishes the rebel label. It fuels him, fires up his teammates and has endeared him to Browns fans, who believe the future is bright. But while he loves being the outsider, Mayfield knows there's a segment of people who wish he would tone down his act and behave more in line with Drew Brees or Peyton Manning. That's their opinion, though. Mayfield is going to be his own man."They are their own person. I'm not trying to be exactly like them," Mayfield said. "Yeah E.J. Gaines Color Rush Jersey , there are things that I absolutely admire about both of those guys, but I'm never trying to be anybody else. I'm going to be the best version of myself and that's what has gotten me here."It's gotten the Browns back to playing meaningful games in December.Just as he does on Sundays, Browns left guard Joel Bitonio protected Mayfield."If you look at Baker's body of work since he's been here, I think it's shown that he's a confident, sometimes cocky player, but you need to be that to be a quarterback in this league," Bitonio said. "People go about it differently and he plays the game the right way, he works the right way, he does things the right way and I'm happy he's our quarterback."NOTES: Interim coach Gregg Williams said rookie OL Austin Corbett had his foot stepped on Sunday at Cincinnati. The No. 33 overall pick could be sidelined for an extended period. … Williams opened his news conference by offering condolences to the Texans following the death of their owner Bob McNair. Cleveland plays at Houston on Sunday.__ The Browns are even taking hits off the field.Star defensive end Myles Garrett said he was punched in the face Wednesday by a “fan” who wanted to take a picture with him. Garrett posted on his Twitter account that the person “hopped” out of his car before delivering a blow that had little effect on the muscular 6-foot-4, 270-pounder.“Put your legs into it,” Garrett wrote, “might have actually made me flinch.”A Browns spokesman said the team is aware of the incident “and appropriate law enforcement authorities have been notified.”Garrett told Cleveland police he was in his car taking on his cellphone on East 9th Street before 3 p.m. when a man driving a 2007 Chevy Cobalt pulled up next to him and asked him if he could take his photograph. Garrett said he told the man to wait because he was on the phone. The man then punched the player in the face “with a closed fist” through the rolled-down window on the driver’s side. He fled the scene, but police later identified him as Richard Perez of Strongsville, Ohio. He was listed as 5-foot-7, 160 pounds on the police report.Garrett told police he was surprised by the incident but not injured. He refused medical attention from emergency services at the scene. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft, Garrett and his teammates practiced earlier in the day at the team’s headquarters before being excused during their bye week. The Browns are just 2-4 after being picked as a potential Super Bowl contender following a busy offseason. They play the defending champion Super Bowl champion New England Patriots on Oct. 27.

' practice field as a kid https://www.thepackersfanshop.com/hats , watching Brett Favre through the holes of the chain-link fence. He dreamed of one day being on the other side. That dream became a reality — sort of — on Monday, as the Packers welcomed Watt and the Texans to Green Bay for the first of two joint practices before the teams meet in their preseason opener Thursday night."I'm very grateful for the reception and the way that they treat me here," said Watt, a Wisconsin native. "The amount of love and support that they've shown me ... it's pretty cool. I literally dreamt about this as a kid."Watt's dream, however, did not include a broken bicycle seat and a groin injury.Since the late 1950s, Packers players have ridden children's bikes to practice during training camp while kids run alongside holding the players' helmets. It's a spectacle Watt witnessed as a kid and finally participated in on Monday."It was pretty awesome until I broke the bike," he said.Watt, a graduate of Pewaukee High School, about 130 miles south of Green Bay, hopped on the bike of 5-year-old Biraj Sadhu."He had a (Aaron) Rodgers jersey on, which is fine," Watt said. "I respect it. I support loyalty."After a few pedal churns through the Lambeau Field parking lot, the seat snapped."The bike that I was using was not equipped for a 290-pound man Green Bay Packers Hoodie , and the seat broke off," he said. "I've purchased a new bike for the boy. I apologize for that."Watt received another bike — a much larger one — from teammate DeAndre Hopkins and rode the rest of the way to the practice field. The Texans and Packers started on separate fields and then converged for a few 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 drills and faced off in a full-team scrimmage.Watt left practice early after experiencing tightness in his groin. Head coach Bill O'Brien said Watt probably won't practice Tuesday. Watt doubts he'll play Thursday either."I doubt that they'll let me out there," he said. "But regardless, it's going to be cool to go out in Lambeau Field and step on the grass and see the fans and just to live that moment. Like I've said all along, it was a dream of mine as a kid, so it's going to be pretty cool whether I'm playing or not."About an hour and 20 minutes into practice, Houston cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr. drilled Green Bay rookie tight end Jace Sternberger on a pass over the middle, causing Sternberger's helmet to pop off. Johnson then followed with a taunt and little dance, prompting several players to jaw at each other."I can't speak for them. ... I just know what I saw out there, and that particular play, that's not what we want to be about," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said.LaFleur said he and O'Brien discussed the play and then O'Brien kicked Johnson out of practice."It's not a big deal. It's just a play that developed over there and it was time for Lonnie to head to the showers," O'Brien said. The two teams will practice together again Tuesday.NOTES: Monday was also a homecoming for Houston rookie OT Max Scharping. The Texans drafted the Green Bay native in the second round out of Northern Illinois. "I think this has to be a surreal experience for him and I'm glad he gets to experience it," Watt said of Scharping. "I hope he has tons of people here for this and tons of people here for the game because as a rookie Vince Biegel Color Rush Jersey , I don't even know if he knows how special this is and how moments like this you really hold onto and cherish." ... Packers K Mason Crosby (calf) took his first kicks of training camp. ... Green Bay CB Kevin King and RBs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones remain sidelined with hamstring injuries. RB Tra Carson received first-team reps in the backfield on Monday.Keith Jenkins can be reached at https://twitter.com/MrKeithJenkins GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Going into his first practice as Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur is trying to downplay the past.At least a little bit.“I wanted to make it about these guys,” LaFleur said following Tuesday’s minicamp practice.“When you come to the Green Bay Packers, obviously, you respect the tradition, the history, but, for us and this football team, it’s about making history.“We’ll always pay credit and respect to what’s been done here in the past, but it’s moving forward. And the expectation level is always going to be great in this organization, as it should be, and that’s really the vibe and what I want our guys to focus on.”After eight consecutive playoff berths, the Packers have fallen short of the postseason the past two seasons. After winning two MVP awards and challenging for a third in 2016 while propelling the team to the NFC championship game Dexter Williams Jersey , quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled by his stellar standards.LaFleur has been busy putting his fingerprint on the team. It’s been small but noticeable things, such as painting the hallways and meeting rooms a bright white.“There was a lot of paint involved,” LaFleur joked. And it’s been big things, such as conducting a pre-draft minicamp and teaching a new offensive system.Tuesday’s practice was the first time the team hit the practice field since December.Only a fraction of the playbook has been installed, but Rodgers likes all the big plays he’s seen on video.“I think what every coach will do in this situation — and it happens whether you’re putting in new plays with the same system or when it’s wholesale changes — the clips that we’re seeing of this offense are big plays,” Rodgers said.“They’re showing us these plays and Julio (Jones is) running 80 for a touchdown or hitting Santana Moss or DeSean Jackson for big plays. Those are exciting. You look at those and go, ‘Man, this offense is incredible.’ It’s obviously cherry-picked to look as good as possible. The plays look great on the film. It’s going to be incorporating them with the guys that we have and finding who those guys are who run those plays best and putting our best players in position to make an impact in the game.”Rodgers was in a playful mood, fielding questions about “Game of Thrones” and the Milwaukee Bucks — the NBA team for which he is a minority owner. After two difficult seasons for the Packers, LaFleur wants to make things fun again.“I think when you really sit down and think about it, whether you’re coaching in this league or whether you’re playing in this league, you’ve got to feel pretty fortunate that you’re in the position that you’re in,” LaFleur said.“So why not go to work every day and have fun with it? It does not need to be an uptight environment. We can certainly come in, get our work done http://www.thepackersfanshop.com/Jace-Sternberger-Jersey , and have a ball doing it. Because at the end of the day, it’s about guys playing football, you know? It’s still playing. So, we want to have a blast each and every day.”Rodgers compared learning LaFleur’s offense to learning a new language. So, it seems, is LaFleur’s approach to the team’s rich history.“I think the great thing about Matt is it’s been very clear messaging,” Rodgers said. “He’s been great in front of the room. It’s a forward focus. It’s about building today for a better tomorrow. He’s done a great job of talking about how the most important thing is us moving forward together and having a deference and appreciation for the past.“But, you know, it’s not like we haven’t won a Super Bowl in a while, so that’s the goal, and it’s about doing things with this team right now. I mean, it’s Green Bay. The history and tradition of excellence so nobody has a problem with the past or bashing the past or offending anybody from the past. But we want to do something special moving forward.”

Womens Lance Kendricks Jersey , but in Matt LaFleur’s offense it just might be. For a Packers team looking for a complement to Davante Adams, they might find it in a player like T.J. Hockenson."Brian Gutekunst’s aggressive approach to free agency hurt the mock draft industrial complex. Before the Green Bay Packers signed Za’Darius and Preston Smith, putting together the likely targets for Green Bay at 12th overall was easy: grab the best pass rusher on the board. Montez Sweat before he habachi’d the combine. Jachai Polite before he lit his own draft stock on fire. Brian Burns hadn’t quite moved up the boards that far, but he’d been a name to watch. The Packers can still go that route. Behind the Acme Sackers, there aren’t great options and a team can never have too much pass rush. Kyler Fackrell will almost certainly regress with his sack totals and someone like Burns could come in and give them rotational outside linebacker snaps. But the question becomes, for a team that now lacks short-term holes, where are the positions that could offer the most long-term impact? Green Bay has questions at safety, offensive tackle, and tight end beyond this season, as well as some depth concerns at linebacker, receiver, and defensive line. After working to round this roster out, the Packers could conclude that a blue chip tight end like T.J. Hockenson or Noah Fant gives them the best chance at long-term impact of their options at 12. Let’s say they draft Burns. If Mr. and Mr. Smith stay healthy, how many snaps can Burns reasonably snag? If we assume similar player quality in terms of the prospects available at 12 (something that isn’t practical without perfect information, but is necessary for the sake of argument), Burns probably wouldn’t play more than 35-40% of snaps on his rookie contract. If he’s good Womens Jason Spriggs Jersey , but not great (again, assumed for the sake of argument), that’s a useful player, but not likely to be as impactful as a player of similar quality at another position where he can start. Jonah Williams and Jawaan Taylor don’t fit Green Bay’s traditional athletic profile, a mold from which they’re unlikely to depart with such a high selection. The only top lineman matching what the front office traditionally looks for is Andre Dillard, the best pass-blocking tackle in the draft and an outstanding athlete. If he’s starting at right tackle by Year 2—and let’s be honest, he’s going to have to play in 2019 with Bryan Bulaga’s injury history—if he’s the same quality player as Burns, he’s more impactful to this team, probably by a lot. But reasonable people disagree about whether or not he’s deserving of the 12th pick. If the Packers feel that way, they could be in a position where both Devin linebackers are off the board (Devin White to Tampa is the worst kept secret in the draft, and the Bengals have been linked to Devin Bush), Ed Oliver is gone, and they’re left looking at guys like Hock and Burns, or reaching for a safety if they don’t like the offensive tackle options. Given Ted Thompson’s history and Brian Gutekunst’s adherence to much of that vision, guard likely won’t be on the table either. Hockenson, or even Fant http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-jimmy-graham-jersey , become intriguing options. Forget, for a moment, the issues teams have had drafting tight ends in the first round. It is the case they’ve been much more successful plucking guys later in the draft, but that’s also not proof Hock or Fant are bad prospects, or likely to be sub-par players. It’s merely evidence teams have been ineffective at correctly identifying talent at the position. The wisdom has long been, if you can get a tight end later, why use a high pick now? That’s a fair point to make. On the other hand, it’s not a case against Hockenson or Fant specifically. In fact, most first-round draft picks are bad, with more than half failing to earn a second contract. If we are assuming Hockenson and Fant’s quality as prospects are the same as players also available, we have to assume they’re good. This is a leap actual teams can’t make, relying instead on their own evaluations. The argument against a tight end can’t be that it’s not a premiere position, because in this offense it is. Kyle Shanahan rode George Kittle to record-breaking receiving numbers last year with sub-NFL quarterback play. Matt LaFleur has Aaron Rodgers. Imagine what he could do with a guy 90% as talented as Kittle. Tight ends take time to develop, but no matter, Green Bay has Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis in the stable for 2019. Someone like Hockenson could take over in 2020 and be playing starting snaps, getting 100 targets a year every season for the rest of his rookie contract. In this offense Blake Martinez Jersey White , that could be WR2 numbers, particularly with no obvious No. 2 option in the passing game already evident on the team. Graham saw 89 targets last season in an offense that isn’t conducive to tight end success. Kittle got 136 last season from Nick Mullens and his traveling band. Before Delanie Walker got hurt last season in Week 1, he already had seven targets for LaFleur in Tennessee. Even if all a player like Hockenson can be is a souped up version of Heath Miller, a tight end who can block and be ultra-reliable for you in the middle of the field, in this offense that’s a highly impactful player. Given that his upside appears to be well beyond that (names like Kittle, Rob Gronkowski and Jason Witten have been thrown out there), there’s certainly a chance he could make that 12th pick well worth it. Ed Oliver, if he’s there, represents value too good to pass up. After that, if we are assuming similar quality prospects, a guy like Dillard who can be a future right tackle, represents the best value. But if Oliver is gone and Dillard isn’t coveted by the Packers, a tight end has as good a case as any to be the most impactful player on the board, even ahead of another pass rusher or an inside linebacker. The quality of these players should ultimately decide the pick. If the Packers love Devin Bush and he’s there, they should take him. If they think Brian Burns is Von Miller 2.0, by all means Tramon Williams Jersey White , draft him. But if they see similar talents available and can’t find a trade partner to move down to 13, 15, or 17, there are two tight ends who could be big-time players for Matt LaFleur in this offense with Aaron Rodgers. Tight end is a premium position in this offense, and will be a need long-term for the team. Believing one of those guys has the best chance to maximally improve this roster is no longer a pipe dream. Brian Gutekunst’s spending spree saw to that. Now, the Packers can focus on getting the best player for their team, even—and perhaps especially—if it’s a tight end. There is some upside to adding AB, but the risks are just far too numerous."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdviceCSTShareTweetShareShareMonday Cheese Curds: Packers should not trade for Antonio BrownCharles LeClaire-USA TODAY SportsIt’s the situation that hangs like a cloud over everything this NFL offseason: what will the Pittsburgh Steelers do with Antonio Brown?Of even more interest to Green Bay Packers fans is if Green Bay actually could trade for the unhappy wide receiver. To quote Ian Malcolm, “your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”The Packers clearly have the ammunition to trade for Brown. They currently own two first round picks and two fourth round picks and could always send a player or two to the Steelers to sweeten the deal. That said, should they even make an offer? The Steelers have long been like the Packers in which they don’t usually tolerate diva behavior and stars who put themselves above the team. The Rooney family is held in extremely high esteem around the league for many reasons and that’s just one of them. The other concern is would Brown be content to be to play behind Davante Adams? Adams and Rodgers have developed a very strong connection and the quarterback’s trust issues with receivers are well known. Would Rodgers immediately welcome Brown into the mold as a veteran star or would he have to earn Rodgers’ trust like a rookie would? The Packers haven’t added much if any veteran receiver help in Rodgers’ tenure that it is hard to predict.Throw in Brown’s salary demands and there is a strong case to make that Green Bay should pass on Brown. The team needs immediate help on defense and a veteran pass rusher would make more of an impact immediately than Brown would. It’s a tempting notion, but Green Bay would be wise to let Brown go somewhere else. There’s more on a potential AB trade plus Rodgers makes a new friend at Pebble Beach in today’s cheese curds. Why Packers should steer clear of Steelers’ Antonio Brown—PackersNews.comThe talent is tempting but the potential headaches could be a disaster for a new coaching staff led by a young rookie head coach.Through the Lens: The small details make the photo so much better—Packers.comEveryone loves Evan Siegle’s work. Ladies and gentlemen Randy Moss Jersey , we’ve made it. All of the moves are in, and the Minnesota Vikings (and the other 31 lesser NFL teams) have reduced their rosters to 53 players.Keep in mind that while this is the 53-man roster, it isn’t the “final” 53-man roster. There are still going to be some moves made after the smoke clears and the dust settles tomorrow and in the days going forward before the season opener. However, here’s a look at everyone on the Vikings’ roster as things stand right now.Offense (25)Quarterbacks (3)Kirk CousinsTrevor SiemianKyle SloterRunning Backs (5)Mike BooneDalvin CookC.J. As much of a surprise as Harris was, apparently he was not the most improved player on the Minnesota Vikings’ roster according to PFF’s metrics.Instead, that honor went to Mackensie Alexander, as PFF revealed their list of each team’s most improved player this past season. Here’s what they had to say about Alexander.Alexander’s first couple of seasons with the Vikings were pretty rough Chris Doleman Jersey , as he was frequently picked on by opposing quarterbacks. However, this season he finally embraced his role as a slot cornerback rather than fighting against it, and flourished as a result. In addition to the pass coverage stats that PFF cites, he also showed off his prowess as a blitzer, collecting four sacks on the season. Only four Vikings’ players had more sacks than Alexander did this season, and two of those players (Sheldon Richardson and Tom Johnson) were only ahead of him by half a sack Chuck Foreman Jersey , as they both collected 4.5 on the season.Alexander is now heading into the final season of his rookie contract, and it’s going to be interesting to see how the Vikings handle the defensive backfield with the emergence of Alexander, the recovery of Mike Hughes, and the surprising play of Holton Hill. Is there a trade coming in the near future?
