Wednesdays evening slate of NBA action offers up 10 games, including many that are expected to be high scoring. Which players should you build around and which players should you fade? Our experts have the answers.Todays panel includes ESPN Fantasys Joe Kaiser and Kyle Soppe, plus DFS expert Jim McCormick.Players to build aroundJoe Kaiser -- James Harden, Houston Rockets Harden faces an undermanned Lakers backcourt that ranks 28th in defense and 7th in pace. Its hard to ask for more than that! Remember, too, that Harden went for 34 points, 7 rebounds, 17 assists and a steal in the first meeting of the season against the Lakers. On a night with many good options, Harden separates himself.Kyle Soppe - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee BucksNot a new name and here and expensive one at that, but cmon. Even with the hefty price tag, youre looking at a 10-15-percent discount from Harden, and thats value to me. Antetokounmpo gets a Blazers team that ranks dead last in defensive efficiency and is bottom five in rebounding rate. With points and rebounds essentially a given, you also have a player in Antetokounmpo that has handed out at least six assists in five of his last eight games in addition to averaging over five blocks-plus-steals in his last seven games. Im looking for another high usage and efficient evening from the Greek Freak and have him as my top value at the point guard position.Jim McCormick -- Goran Dragic, Miami HeatMiami runs a drive-heavy offensive scheme through their lead guards. Dion Waiters, expected to miss several more games with injury, is 10th in the league in drives per game. Dragic, meanwhile, leads the NBA with 14.8 drives per game and has produced 55 percent more passes per game on drives than any other player. With both Waiters and Josh Richardson sidelined, Dragics already impressive opportunity rates are on the rise, as hes averaging 36.1 minutes and 18 shots from the field over the past four games. Dragics usage rate over this sample is 29 percent, representative of a rewarding role. The Hawks rank 28th in defensive efficiency against point guards this season, while Dragics reasonable price point and elite usage pattern could prove profitable.Players to fadeJoe Kaiser -- Damian Lillard, Portland Trail BlazersLillard is a star who might be worth a look on DraftKings, but hes near the $10,000 range on FanDuel and thats too pricy in tonights road game against Milwaukee, a team that ranks 16th in pace and sixth in defense, and a team that can use the length of the 6-foot-11 Antetokounmpo to make life difficult for Lillard. There are too many other good options to pay up for Lillard on Wednesday.Kyle Soppe -- Carmelo Anthony, New York KnicksNo thanks, Ill pass on a tired Melo who may be trying to show out against LeBron James at the Garden tonight (on ESPN). Its obviously early in the month, but Anthony has jacked up 27 3-point attempts in his three games this month, and Im just not rolling the dice with that trend from a 34.4-percent career 3-point shooter. The rebound totals have been underwhelming of late (averaging 6.0 rebounds, his lowest in a decade) and Anthony has just one game with more than three assists in the last 3.5 weeks. I like Melo to get his points, but he is priced in the same tier as Paul George, Rudy Gay, and Nicolas Batum ... hes not for me this evening.Jim McCormick -- Derrick Rose, New York KnicksOn a rich night at the position with several elite and mid-tier options, Rose is a reasonable fade candidate. Even as the Cavs can prove generous to opposing point guard given Kyrie Irvings lack of defensive prowess, Roses highly variant fantasy pattern -- hes scored 20.5 or fewer fantasy points on DraftKings in two of the past four -- is avoidable at the most demanding position in DFS tonight.Manu Ginobili Spurs Jersey . -- In a span of seven Washington Redskins offensive plays, Justin Tuck sacked Robert Griffin III four times. Tony Parker Spurs Jersey ., for the next three years with the signings on Monday of Daryl Townsend and Michael Carter. https://www.spurslockerroom.com/Tim-Duncan-City-Edition-Jersey/ . 1 position. The Mustangs (6-0), who beat Queens 50-31 last weekend, earned 17 first-place votes and 287 points in voting by the Football Reporters of Canada. Western was last ranked first in the country in October 2011. David Robinson Jersey . The 18th player to shoot 60 on the tour, Jamieson settled for par on the final hole when his 15-foot birdie chip grazed the edge of the hole and stayed out. After opening with rounds of 66 and 73 to make the cut by a stroke, he had 11 birdies in the bogey-free round. Derrick White Spurs Jersey . -- Cam Newton pranced into the end zone, placed his hands over his chest and did his familiar Superman pose. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball, says James Earl Jones as Terence Mann in Field of Dreams.America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. ... It reminds us of all that was once good and it could be again.Baseball has remained a constant, ever since Civil War soldiers played it in between brutal and bloody battles. The game itself, however, has changed, at times subtly and at times more dramatically, most notably when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. So ranking the top 100 players of all time is a difficult -- impossible? -- task. The ESPN panel of expert voters was asked to compare players from 1890 to players in 2016, asked to compare players who didnt play against black players or travel west of the Mississippi to players who now come to the major leagues not just from Latin America but from across the globe. How do you compare Babe Ruth, who didnt face pitchers throwing 90 mph sliders or a parade of relievers throwing 100, to Clayton Kershaw, who didnt have to pitch while sweating through a heavy wool uniform and who has yet to complete his career? It is, ultimately, a subjective ranking, with voters asked to assess both a players career and peak value, which can be dramatically different in how we view a players ultimate legacy. Pete Rose played forever, a model of durability; Sandy Koufax had a short, glorious run of dominance. We do, of course, rely on the numbers. But that can be tricky as well, even without factoring in that the major leagues were segregated until 1947, so all the best players werent even playing against each other. Take the career leaders in wins above replacement on Baseball-Reference.ddddddddddddcom. Only five of the top 25 players of all time were born after World War II ended: Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Alex Rodriguez, Rickey Henderson and Greg Maddux. Does that intuitively make sense? That a large majority of the greatest players of all time began their careers before Alaska and Hawaii even became states?Other sports dont hold on to history as tightly as baseball does. Few NBA fans will argue that Bob Cousy is better than Stephen Curry or Chris Paul. But in baseball, many will claim Cy Young -- 511 wins! -- is the greatest pitcher ever, even though he began his career when the pitching distance was still 50 feet and a pitchers box existed instead of a slab of rubber. In a way, however, thats what makes these debates so much fun. We can all bring different criteria to our judgments. Stick to the numbers and measure the players only against their peers? Fine. Or make a timeline adjustment and figure the overall talent level of the sport has gotten better -- and thus its tougher to compile some of the gaudy numbers of the past. Thats fine too. Want to factor in a players postseason or World Series accomplishments? Go for it.So there is no agreement here. But we did come up with a list. Hey, we have to start the debates somewhere. We considered Negro Leaguers as well as MLB players, although we did not consider players who played only in Japan (sorry, Sadaharu Oh).Welcome to #MLBRank. Have fun as we roll out the position rankings and then the overall top 100 over the next 10 days, and let the arguments begin. ' ' '
