It seems like ancient history now, but less than seven weeks ago, Ezekiel Elliotts NFL career got off to a very quiet start. The Cowboys fourth overall draft pick shouldered the load for an offense playing without its veteran quarterback,?Tony Romo. With fellow rookie Dak Prescott taking snaps, Elliott wasnt able to get much going on the ground against the Giants, finishing with just 51 yards in 20 carries. The Cowboys lost 20-19, in part because of Elliotts struggles as a ball carrier.Things werent much better the next week, when Elliott managed just 83 yards on 21 carries. Fortunately for the Cowboys, they still beat Washington 27-23, but their rookie star was averaging just 3.3 yards per carry, and there was little to indicate he was on the verge of any kind of history. But things changed in a hurry, as they so often do in the NFL. Elliott gained 140 yards in a 31-17 win over Chicago, then 138 yards as the Cowboys defeated San Francisco 24-17, followed by 134 yards in a 28-14 drubbing of Cincinnati in Week 5.In Week 6, Dallas traveled to Green Bay, where Elliotts streak of big games looked likely to end. To that point in the season, the Packers had not allowed any team to run for more than 50 yards in a game and were holding opponents to just 2.0 yards per carry. Elliott trampled the previously stout Green Bay defense for a career-best 157 yards, the first player in more than a year to run for 150 yards against the Packers.Given the caliber of competition, it was a resounding exclamation point that made it very clear to the NFL that Elliott was no fluke -- and that he and the Cowboys would not be going away.Elliott is now averaging 117.2 rushing yards per game, a full 20 yards ahead of the next-best running back (Arizonas David Johnson). His total of 703 yards is also the best start for a rookie runner in more than 30 years. But can Zeke keep this pace up? Lets take a look back at previous rookie running back standouts to see what they can tell us about Elliotts likelihood of putting together a record-breaking rookie season. Ray Allen Jersey . 31, the CFL club announced Monday. The team also has yet to decide on the future of Doug Berry, who began the season as a consultant to the head coach but took over the offensive co-ordinators duties in July. Vin Baker Bucks Jersey . According to a report from the Vancouver Province, the Lions are expected to replace former DC Rich Stubler with defensive backs coach Mark Washington. http://www.nbabucksproshop.com/Authentic-Eric-Bledsoe-Bucks-Jersey/ . Still, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke thought taking him out before the fifth inning was an unusual move. "Im looking up at the board and hes got two hits given up and one run, and Im taking him out after the fourth inning," Roenicke said. Brook Lopez Jersey . Self was acquired from the Buffalo Bandits in a trade for Alex Hill midway through last season, and made his debut in Rochester on March 16, 2013. Ersan Ilyasova Bucks Jersey . They reached the 100-point plateau for the fourth time in five games, bested the visiting Trail Blazers by 34 in the paint and scored 19 of the final 25 points in regulation. As the Vancouver Canucks cleaned out their lockers and met with the media on Thursday following their four-game, first round exit from the playoffs at the hands of the San Jose Sharks, general Manager Mike Gillis said he is ready to make major adjustments to his roster. "Were going to do a thorough review of everything in the organization. Five years ago we reset. Its time to do it again," said Gillis as he answered questions on lineup changes and head coach Alain Vigneaults future. "There are a couple of significant changes we need to make to get players we need to compete." When asked if goaltender Roberto Luongo would be a member of the team next season, Gillis said it would be, "unlikely." As far as other changes are concerned, Gillis is already aware of the direction he needs to take his roster moves. "If you take Cory as a No. 1 goaltender, hes at the prime of his career; our defence is at their prime," said Gillis. "We need to get younger. "Weve tried offer sheets and trades at deadline. Were going to have to find a bold move." Luongo started the first two games of the series in place of injured keeper Cory Schneideer and believes that his time as the No.dddddddddddd 1 choice for the Canucks is over. "Whats happened over the last two years suggests that maybe its not my time to be the starter here anymore," said Luongo on Thursday. Luongo added that Schneider was hard pressed to find success trying to get back into the flow of the series after missing the opening games. "Cory was put in a tough spot being asked to play without much practice time after his groin injury," said Luongo. As for his future, Luongo knows he might have to move to another team to get his opportunity. "I still have a lot to give. If its here or elsewhere, that remains to be seen," he said. Luongo does, however, think his place is on the ice and not on the bench. "My main goal is to be a starter, I want to play, he said. "At the end of the day, thats what I want." Schneider, for his part, took some of the blame for the two games the team lost while he was in net. "I didnt get the job done," he said. "I didnt play well enough." Schneider also confirmed that it was a groin injury that forced him out of the first two games of the series. ' ' '
