GREEN BAY http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-oshane-ximines-jersey , Wis. — How fortunes have changed in less than two years for the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers. The participants in the NFC title game in January 2017 are floundering this season. The Packers have already fired head coach Mike McCarthy.More Packers coverage from FOX Sports WisconsinPhotos of the Week: 7/21/19 – 7/27/19Packers rookie Gary’s biggest critic is himselfTop Tweets: Former Badger TJ Watt has impressive four-year transformationPHOTOS: 2019 Green Bay Packers training campPackers’ Rodgers, LaFleur ironing out offense, building chemistryFalcons owner Arthur Blank reaffirmed support for his coach, Dan Quinn, after a four-game losing streak dropped the team out of the playoff picture. The game between the Falcons (4-8) and Packers (4-7-1) on Sunday at Lambeau Field was once circled on the NFL calendar as a potential matchup between contenders jockeying for a home game in the playoffs.Instead, it’s turned into a matchup between disappointing teams each trying to avoid a losing season.“I think what you want to do when you go through a difficult stretch is you want to make sure you take the lessons first, and when you do that, there’s something that you have to gain,” Quinn said. “Sometimes you don’t like to admit it, but that’s where the learning takes place the most.”It sounds a lot like what the Packers are going through at Lambeau, where the future is clouded by uncertainty.Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin took over as interim head coach after McCarthy was fired following the stunning 20-17 loss last week to the lowly Arizona Cardinals.A coaching veteran with a dry sense of humor, Philbin has delivered simple messages at a time of upheaval.“I told the offense, we’ve got to block, we’ve got to throw and catch, we’ve got to run hard with the ball. That’s really ultimately what wins games Julian Love Jersey ,” Philbin said. “Schemes are important, but not as important as playing guys together and playing with great effort and playing fundamentally sound. That’s really the focus.”The Packers have lost three straight and five of six. They need lots of help to get into the postseason even if they can somehow win their last four games.“I think everybody’s kind of realizing that we’re all under the microscope even more. Who knows what the changes are going to be after the season,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “So I feel like the energy was good today. Unfortunately the urgency that you need early in the season, we kind of had out in practice today.”Other notes and things to watch:10<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Potential head coaching candidates for the PackersRODGERS RECORD WATCHAt least the game could be worth watching for the quarterback play. Rodgers’ 61.8 percent completion rate this year is his lowest since 2015 (60.7 percent), though he has thrown just one interception all season. Rodgers has thrown a franchise-record 336 attempts without an interception, trailing only New England’s Tom Brady (358 in 2010-11) for longest such stretch in league history.THIRD-QUARTER BLUESOne of the Falcons’ goals for the week is to jump-start their abysmal third-quarter scoring. Atlanta has been outscored 71-34 in third quarters, including 6-0 in last week’s 26-16 loss to Baltimore. The Falcons ran only five plays and held the ball less than two minutes in the quarter. By contrast, the Falcons’ 115 second-quarter points and 107 fourth-quarter points rank among the top five in the league.CALLING PLAYSPhilbin, the former Dolphins head coach in his second stint as a Packers assistant, has extensive experience coaching and putting together offensive game plans. But the previous time that Philbin called plays was when he was a college assistant at Northeastern in 1995-96. He’ll assume those duties again on Sunday since McCarthy was the play-caller in Green Bay. Of course, the Packers also have a veteran at quarterback in Rodgers who is often at his best out of the pocket when a play breaks down.WELCOME BACKThe Falcons have lost eight players to injured reserve this season, including long snapper Josh Harris this week. They finally had a key starter return from IR last week when linebacker Deion Jones set a career high with 15 tackles and a sack against the Ravens. Jones missed 10 games after suffering a broken right foot in the opener against Philadelphia. Jones’ 15 tackles were the most by a Falcons player this season.RUN TIMEThe Falcons have the NFL’s worst rushing attack, averaging just 79 yards a game. They were held to 34 on the ground last week against Baltimore , a week after a season-low 26 against the Saints.“When we’re at our best, we’re running the football and we’re able to create play-action passes http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-darius-slayton-jersey ,” quarterback Matt Ryan said. This might be the week they get things going. Green Bay allowed a season-high 182 yards on the ground to the Cardinals last week, who have the league’s second-worst rushing offense.7<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Upon Further Review: Packers vs. CardinalsAP | Copyright The Associated Press. Suter drove in two runs and pitched a career-high seven innings, Christian Yelich, Hernan Perez and Jesus Aguilar homered and the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers beat Jake Arrieta and the Phillies 13-2 on Friday night.
Suter (7-4) allowed one run on six hits to win his fifth start in the last six, including a 12-3 victory over the Phillies six days ago. The lanky left-hander tossed a career-high 105 pitches and pushed the Brewers to 43-27, the best record in the NL.
”He always gives 100 percent when he pitches, and we support him,” Perez said. ”Sometimes http://www.jetsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jachai-polite-jersey , we need that nine holes to get a hit. Tonight, (Suter) did that.”
Suter went 2 for 2, scored twice and got hit by a pitch in his 16th appearance and 13th start. The team originally thought Suter might start the season in the bullpen, but that’s not been the case lately.
Milwaukee has scored 40 runs against the Phillies in four games, including 27 in three at Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia has 13 in that span.
Arrieta (5-5) came in 3-0 with a 2.03 ERA in five career starts at Miller Park, but the Brewers snapped that streak by reaching him for eight runs – four earned – on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out one.
”Jake did not have his fastball command, and we didn’t play good defense behind him,” Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said. ”That was the story of the game today.”
Arrieta put the blame on his shoulders, ignoring the season high-tying four errors.
”I singlehandedly lost us the game,” he said. ”I put up a 5 spot in the second inning. It wasn’t because of the defense, really. ”
Philadelphia also had four errors on March 31 at Atlanta.
Suter got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second. Shortstop Scott Kingery misplayed Lorenzo Cain’s liner for two more runs. Aguilar added a sacrifice fly and Cain scored on a wild pitch.
The Brewers chased Arrieta in the fourth, keeping him winless in three starts in June.
Suter reached on a fielding error by left fielder Rhys Hoskins and scored on Cain’s double. Yelich hit the first pitch for his ninth home run of the season.
Perez started the sixth by homering off reliever Mark Leiter Jr. Suter sliced an opposite-field base hit for his second RBI in the game.
Cesar Hernandez went 3 for 3 with an RBI double in the sixth. Odubel Herrera hit a solo homer in the ninth.
TRAINER’S ROOM
Phillies: RHP Pat Neshek (right shoulder strain) threw and ran some sprints in preparation for throwing a bullpen session on Sunday. RHP Jerad Eickhoff (right lat strain) threw Friday and should throw another bullpen on Tuesday.
Brewers: 2B Jonathan Villar missed his second consecutive game with a calf injury. He left Tuesday’s 4-0 win over the Chicago Cubs after legging out an infield single in the eighth inning.
LEARN FROM ERRORS
Kapler believes in Kingery, despite his costly error.
”At the end of the day, do we think that he will be one of our better players for many, many years to come in part because of this experience?” Kapler said. ”The answer is yes.”
Kingery has six errors in 63 games so far this season.
”Right now Chuma Edoga Jersey , we feel like Scottie is developing very well and becoming a much better shortstop,” Kapler said.
A DOZEN, PLEASE
The Brewers are the first team to score at least 12 runs three times in a season against the Phillies since the 1968 Cincinnati Reds.
POSITION-PLAYING PITCHER
Philadelphia infielder Jesmuel Valentin pitched the eighth and surrendered Aguilar’s two-run homer and Manny Pina‘ run-scoring grounder. It was his first pitching appearance and second of the season for the Phillies, who used Pedro Florimon on May 18 at St. Louis.
”This is our way of saying tomorrow is important, too,” Kapler said. ”The next day is important, too. We’re going to preserve our guys in our bullpen.”
UP NEXT
Phillies: RHP Zach Eflin (3-2, 3.63 ERA) makes his second consecutive start against the Brewers. He beat them 4-3 on June 10, allowing two runs on three hits in six innings and matching his season high with nine strikeouts.
Brewers: RHP Junior Guerra (3-4, 2.71 ERA) makes his 13th start and first against the Phillies this season. He is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA in two career starts against Philadelphia at Citizens Bank park.
