And Caratini hit an RBI double in that at-bat after he injured his hand! In the meantime, the Cubs have recalled Taylor Davis from Triple-A Iowa:Davis isn’t really a long-term solution at backup catcher. The Cubs will likely have to go out and try to find a team willing to trade someone, and that cost might be high considering the Cubs don’t have much leverage at this point. All the catching free agents from this past offseason either signed with someone, or retired.Hopefully Caratini’s injury is not serious and he can return after only the minimum 4-6 weeks on the injured list.
