CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Tampa Bay Rays put right-hander Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained oblique in his left side, the second starter theyve lost to injury in a week. Roberto Luongo Jersey . Cobb pitched seven innings in a 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. Hes gone 15-1-3 innings without allowing a run. The Rays called up left-handed reliever Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham to take his spot on the roster. Beliveau pitched 22 games in relief for the Cubs in 2012 and one for the Rays last season. Left-hander Erik Bedard was added to the roster on Sunday and will take Cobbs spot in the rotation for now. Left-hander Matt Moore went on the 15-day DL earlier in the week with a sore elbow. The Rays moved left-hander Cesar Ramos from the bullpen into the rotation to take his place -- Ramos started Sunday against Cincinnati. Ramos and Bedard competed for a spot in the rotation during spring training, so they were ready to be starters when the season began. Cobb felt some tightness in his side during the game on Saturday, but he was throwing so well that the Rays thought nothing of it. "Im not exactly sure when it happened," manager Joe Maddon said. "We thought it could have been dehydration." He was examined after the game and sent back to Florida for an MRI to determine the extent of the problem. The Rays put him on the disabled list right away because they knew hed miss one or two starts anyway. More than 2 1/2 months after the labrum in Harvins hip was repaired, the Seahawks got a glimpse Tuesday of a possible addition to a team thats already leading the NFC with a 6-1 record when the dynamic receiver returned to practice. It was an extra practice for the Seahawks, coming off a weekend of rest following last Thursdays win over Arizona. But it was a significant day for Harvin. "Its all day to day. I want to play as soon as possible, but we all want to be smart in this thing," Harvin said. "We put a plan together and were just going to take it day by day and see how it feels." The decision to have the surgery was fairly obvious, Harvin said. A bone was impacting the labrum in his hip and causing pain beyond just doing football activities. But Harvin didnt want his first impression with his teammates being him hobbling around recovering from an injury. "It was tough for me coming to a new team and I didnt know how everybody would perceive it," Harvin said. "It was tough for me to deal with. I really didnt want to have it but I knew it was something I needed to get done. It was tough being away from the team, being new to the team. They gave me great support and I was able to get through it." Harvin said he was originally told the recovery would take six to eight months, meaning he would have missed most, if not all of the season. Harvin is far ahead of that timetable and now is in the process of getting his timing back on the field. He worked out with Wilson at the teams facility on Monday and the duo were the final two off the practice field Tuesday. "I havent had any setbacks. Im running pretty good, cutting pretty good, doing all the things I was doing previously," Harvin said. "Its just getting in the grind, getting the practices in and getting in the meetings and all of those things and Ill be ready to go."
